A ballot initiative in 2024 served to enshrine abortion in Arizona's State Constitution. Currently the law makes abortion legal until the point of "viability" based on the development of the fetus. Arizona also requires that a woman seeking abortion must have in-person counseling with the abortion provider and then observe a 24 hour waiting period before having the abortion.
