Abortion is legal in Iowa with some restrictions. Currently the law makes abortion legal until 6 weeks. Iowa law also requires counseling and a 24 hour or more waiting period before returning for an abortion. The law requires that parents be notified beforehand of their minor child's decision for an abortion.
